Why Did You Start Ms Hair?

We started Ms Hair after noticing an increase in hair loss and traction alopecia amongst our family and friends. After many years of excessive hair styling and poor hair maintenance, many of our loved ones were struggling with thinning hair. This significantly impacted their self-confidence and limited their choice of hairstyles. We couldn’t find any immediate solutions that addressed this problem for women of colour. My family and I decided to take matters into our own hands and create our own products.

What’s The Story Behind Your Brand Name?

We named the company Ms Hair because we wanted our brand to represent a title of respect and independence, which would empower women to identify with the beauty and power of their natural hair.

How Do You Use It?

You can use the Hair Foundation Kit in 3 easy steps:

• Step 1 - Preparation: Place the Applicator Pump on top of the Hair Foundation Fibre bottle twisting downwards until the pump is secured in place.
• Step 2 - Application: On dry hair, hold the bottle 3-5 inches above the target area. Spray gently over the target area until you achieve your desired look.
• Step 3 - Fixing Spray: Apply two short sprays while using the Edge Perfector to guide your application and cover your forehead while spraying.

Yes, our Hair Foundation Kit comes in; Black, Dark Brown, Auburn, Blonde and Grey.

What About When I Sweat & Will It Stain My Pillows?

Our Hair Foundation is not a liquid dye, instead, it’s made with a unique formula that bonds to each hair follicle very securely, this makes it sweatproof and ensures that it’ll not stain or smear your pillowcases. We do recommend using a silk or satin headscarf at night to protect your edges from friction and to ensure that your coverage stays in place.

Our Hair Foundation does not contain active ingredients that encourage hair growth. Instead, we have created a product using natural ingredients that revives the appearance of thinning hair instantly. 1) Pulling your hair tightly can create constant tension that could damage the hair follicles. This will cause pressure on your hair and scalp which might cause hair damage, resulting in severe hair loss and balding. So try to avoid wearing hairstyles that can add further tension or strain to your hair.

2) Iron deficiency is a major cause of hair loss as the hair follicles and roots are nourished by a nutrient-rich blood supply. It's worth consulting with your doctor to check your iron levels, this will help determine if you need to increase your Iron intake.

3) Beware of harmful ingredients, as they can strip out the nutrients in your hair. Try to avoid or limit using products with propylene glycol, sulphates, parabens and silicone. Lastly, water is your hair’s best friend, so drink plenty of it.
